Ashington Festival Saturday 16th August 2025
Hundreds of people came along to what was a fun day for everyone with a terrific atmosphere.
Starting in the arena, we welcomed Wheel2Wheel BMX display team, our favourite Tom Foolery was there to entertain the children, and ferret racing from Ferret World which was very popular with the children.
The Ashington Musical Theatre Society were singing and dancing to music from the musicals. We also had for the first time to Ashington the Jacquie Young Band playing popular music. And to commemorate VJ Day we enjoyed songs from the 40’s & 50’s sung by Fiona Harrison.
The evening entertainment was very much enjoyed as we welcomed back from last year the popular Legend Has It, playing music through the decades. Also performing was Pippa Langhorne AKA Shania Twain. And the finale was a large fantastic firework display.
On the Recreation Ground there was so much to see and do with a fun dog show. A large classic car show, a car boot sale, animals, lots of stalls and sideshows, Ashington’s own Harris Funfair with other fair rides for the teenagers and children to ride. There were several food outlets selling delicious food for every taste, plus a licenced bar.
The Ashington Festival Committee would like to say a big thank you to all the sponsors and to everyone who helped on the day to help make it such a successful day.
